Somewhere in Western Nigeria, a woman named Yejide brewed a drink so warm and welcoming that people said it had a spirit of its own. Her gift traveled — found rhythm in the Caribbean, hustle in Canada, and finally a home wild enough to hold it in Toronto: where Afrobeats meets soca meets a Tuesday that somehow becomes Saturday.
