In the story, before there's ever a bottle, there's a field — rows of sorghum and guinea corn swaying under an African sun, tended by hands that understood something simple: take care of the land, and the land takes care of everyone who gathers around what it grows.
That belief didn't stay behind when the legend crossed the ocean. It came with us. Every batch of Melotas, Mojo, and Tanel starts with organically cultivated grains, sourced with the same respect for the land that shaped the very first brew in Yejide's kitchen.

As Melotas grows, we're building sustainability into every stage of the story — from how our grains are grown, to how our beer is packaged, to how it travels from our brewery to your gathering. Our vision is to be known not just for great beer, but for the kind of environmental stewardship that keeps the fields — and the legend — alive for generations still to come.
A Story Worth Protecting
Yejide never had a sustainability policy. She just understood, in the way people who live close to the land always do, that you don't take more than you give back. That's the same principle we're building Melotas on — a legend that gets to keep growing precisely because we took care of the ground it grew from.
