About the role

Melotas Beverage Inc. is looking for a Malting Specialist to oversee and support the conversion of high-quality barley into malt for our brewing operations.

The Malting Specialist will be responsible for managing and monitoring the malting process, from receiving and evaluating barley through steeping, germination, kilning, drying, storage, and quality assessment. The successful candidate will work closely with farmers, suppliers, brewers, production staff, and quality personnel to ensure that the malt consistently meets the requirements of our brewing recipes and finished beer.

This is an important role within our raw-material supply chain, as the quality of malt has a direct impact on beer flavour, colour, aroma, fermentation performance, and consistency.

  10. 10Collaborate with brewers to understand recipe requirements and develop malt profiles appropriate for different beer styles.
  11. 11Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve malt consistency, production efficiency, and resource utilization.
  12. 12Ensure compliance with company food-safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace-safety procedures.
  13. 13Assist with troubleshooting malting and raw-material quality issues.
  14. 14Support new malt, barley, and process trials when required.
